Since I got my engine from Rafic in March, I started the rebuild and it's coming along ok. Ive hit a few snags here and there but all is well.

PS. I got the head machined. 3 angle valve job, ported, polished, new valves, and better cams + lifters (Thanks Rafi!)

(sorry the pic byte size is so large. I'll edit it tonight)

Then there are people like me who are forced to do a rebuild from the get-go. LIke you said though, it's going to be nice having that security...

That looks good Cory, nice job, now you need to get it done so you can drop this beast in your car and feel the ponies.

There is no benefit to a 5 angle valve job on this motor. The head design is so good to begin with that no difference would be had between a 3 angle and 5.

I agree with this! My machinist says it's pointless on such small valves anyways. 3 angle is more than sufficient.

Motor looks good! Are you putting this motor in a pulsar or sentra or something because this definitely is a FWD/AWD CA.

Thanks for the reply! I have a small assignment for you if you're interested. Can you measure the depth of the flywheel area of your AWD and FWD transmission and also the length of the FWD spline as opposed to the AWD spline. Will your AWD flywheel fit into the bellhousing of the FWD transmission? Your response will be much appreciated and will serve as legitimate testimony for any and all newbies interested in interchanging parts. Though I know the answers, you have the pictures to go with your answer, so the proof is in the pudding.

Thanks,

Dee
