It's kind of sounding like i might be better off rebuilding my CA as soon as I get it. pistons, rods, bearings, headgasket etc. I'm looking for under 300 hp right now, and i realize the stock bottom end will support this, but i may as well beef it up while i'm in there.

So what parts do you guys reccommend? Should i just stick with stock nissan parts? What will they cost?

stock oem parts 100% (except for pistons b/c the pulsar pistons are high comp ones...that won't work real well on your turbo motor!)

And your rods should be good, they're pretty beefy from the factory. The pistons are more than likely OK, but it doesn't hurt to check them out, and while your pistons are out replace the rings! Buy the gasket set from Nissan for the ca18de pulsar (comes with a headgasket) and replace all your gaskets at once:D

So rings, gaskets and maybe some rod bearings? Are the Pulsar rods forged? if so.. wow!

Hopefully I can con one of my automotive genius friends into helping me with the rebuild... I'm not really scared of it, i'm just scared i'm gonna miss one of those important little things that people who work on cars know to do.

i don't think they're forged, just really strong from the factory!
