REBUILD OR REPLACE

I HAVE TO MAKE A DECISION TO MAKE. I JUST GOT A '91 240SX AND THE KA24DE ENGINE RUNS BUT I AM AFRAID THAT IF I RUN IT FOR TO LONG IM GONA THROW SOMETHING THROUGH THE WALLS OF THE ENGINE. I DONT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BUT ITS KNOCKING HARD.. DO I TRY TO REBUILD OR DO I TRY AND GET A REPLACEMENT??? I HAVE $1200 TO PLAY AROUND WITH FOR THE ENGINE

try rebuilding the engine, if its a rod kknock you may still have time to save the crank. stop running the engine and check the inards.

Buy another KA to swap in. Cost less than $500. I got mine for 300. Do that first and then you can tear apart the engine on your own time and have fun rebuiling it or take to the machine shop then..... Get another engine.

i would say get another, but if you live in a place like i do, junk yards sell them for like 600 dollars, and thats about howmuch it would cost for me to get one shiped here if i baught a used one from some one, so if u can rebuild it your self i would say do that, if you cand, a shop will charge quite a bit.

the best i found a used engine for is 800 from a junkyard but he said it was coming from a different place... he didnt have it on the lot. i found a rebuild kit for 600 but im not really experenced with that type of stuff... yet... you have any sites to get good rebuild kits??

dude, this is off subject. but Do u have an HUD on your 240sx. My is broken and i need to swap out an analog speedo.
