Ho Kay! So... I'm contemplating buying this car. So don't snake it from me http://sacramento.craigslist.o....htmlWell anyways I've made post like this before but I didn't get much of a answer. It looks like a good deal with all the things that have been done to it even if I have to spend the $$ to do a rebuild and body work.

So Question-Where can I buy a rebuild kit that would do the job and where could I get the best price? Why I ask is Iknow other have had to do the same but mabey after 4 hours of searching I find what I think is a deal on it and some one says "oh that sucks you just waisted your money, I know where to get the same kit for 1/2 the price."+ mabey there is a company that speciallizes in this kinda thing that I should go with, instead of going with something I find unknowing and later people tell me " WTF?!?! Are you retarded!?! Why that wal-mart brand? EVERY ONE that does a rebuild gets the(........) rebuild kit".

Sorry if I sound like a Noob-let. Thanks!

There isn't a "rebuild kit" so to speak for a motor. You need to call up your parts department and start ordering parts for the motor such as rod bearings, gaskets, main bearings, etc. Since he's complaining about a rough idle and some smoke, I'm tempted to say he's got a holed piston. I've seen quite a few SRs that would not die on idle, but have damaged pistons.

In a case like this, you really would need to let the motor dictate how the rebuild would go, which means you'd have to buy it, tear it down, figure out what's busted, and then formulate your rebuild path.

Personally speaking, while there are a few decent upgrades, the car doesn't seem worth the money. If it were about $500 cheaper and you were good at rebuilding motors, i would say go with your gut. Just be careful and don't go in over your head on this one.
