IIRC bio had his rebuilt at a shop in Dallas for right around $500. Now, that is a stock rebuild, and I do not beleive that includes pumps, gaskets, and seals. To get a stock rebuild, look for about $500-$800 depending on how much work you have done. Now would be a great time to port match the manifolds (don't forget the head!!!!!!!) and to port/polish the runners. Think about some valve work, and possibly replacing everything you can. Things to replace:-Main/rod bearings (~$50)-Water pump (~$30)-Oil pump (~$200)-all gaskets/seals top and bottom (~$250)-Timing belt (~$20)-All belts and hoses
Now take that and factor in all of the machine work, at around $25-$30 an hour. That should give you a ball park.
When I do mine, I am budgeting around $1500-$2000, but that will include Calico bearings (or coated OEM), rod work (cryo or shot peening), and pistons as well as all things mentioned above. Hopefully I will get to use my Cometic at that point as well
