Well my KA is dying...the doc gives her about 40-50 thousand more miles of oil burning backfiring pleasure. So, what do I do?
1. Rebuild all motor with new camshafts, gears, valve job, port polish etc. a.Cheapest way I know, probably about 2.5-3k but I don't think it'll make much power.
2. Rebuild and turbocharge/supercharge a. More power but more money. How reliable is a rebuilt KA with forced induction, who makes decent kits for the KA
3. SR20DET swap a. How hard is it to find replacement parts in a short amount of time. Such as having to replace a starter, alternator, cracked head so forth and so on. Also how cost effiective and reliable will an sr20 be?
Just point me in the right direction!
Like most people I'm looking for the most "bang for the buck", and wouldn't like to spend more than 5 or 6k...less is always better.
