Hello All,
I'm new to this site I have 1995 300zx TT I did the injectors 616, Jim Wolf CPU and put in a Level 10 transmission rated 800hp transmission. (Automatic).
I have a boost controller .. Stillen suspension throughout and Stillen Induction single large cone.
the car had a lot of white smoke coming out of both exhaust so I take to my Z mechanic and he said my Piston was damaged. so he
tells me that it's going to cost $6600.00 to rebuild the bottom end I'm using CZP rebuild kit ( CZP 300ZX Wiseco, Eagle Engine Rebuild Kit A-1 w/ Cometic Head Gaskets Twin Turbo 90-96 Z32) Boring to 88mm Wiseco 88mm and Eagle rods... staying with stock Turbos for now. My two questions are: is $6600.00 a good price for a rebuild and
what kind of HP would I be pushing with this set up?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

That sounds pretty damned expensive. Do you live in Alaska or somewhere without good, reputable engine builders?

Call around and get a few other quotes and then bring them back to him (if you want him to do the work) and see if he'll adjust his price.

White smoke is typically coolant. Specifically speaking, in what way did he say the piston was damaged?

Thanks for your reply Frapjap.. he stated that the piston was cracked. I live in Long Island NY. I thought it sounded quite high. I don't know
any machine shops that do these type of cars.

You could buy a long block for less than $6600.

Call Z1 Performance in Selden.
