Ok so in the process of rebiulding my friends sr, he ordered a fwd sr oil pump instead of a rwd one and decided to put to it on,What is different between the two..

1: On the front of the head where it sits on top of the oil pump, there is two bolts holes that doesnt line up, one does and the other doesn't but so far no leakage from it

2: the pin that comes off the oil pump, where you set TDC is slightly cocked to a different spot, so this means going by your fsm, when putting your motor in TDC, its actually off real close to 90 degres.

Just a insider for anyone thinking about going with fwd oil pump so you dont have a order one off the net, they are different and its a pain in the a** to set the timing

the pump gears also arn't as thick resulting in a lower volume pump, which will decrease the motors life if run at its limits all the time, because hot oil is thinner and then you have a lower volume pump, means less lubraction. which we all know what happens when thers not enough lube. i ran a fwd pump for a year than replaced it with a rwd one later just to be safe.
