Hey Guys,I am asking on behalf on a friend, what is a reasonable price for the 1994-1996 Q? I would ask my sales staff but I figure I would go to you guys, the professionals! This comes about after I heard my buddy looking foa a older LS400, I told him to at least give the '94-'96 Q a chance (he won't go any older than 10 years). Let me know..Thanks All,-Joe

Well, IMO the 94-95 years are better than the 96. As far as the cost issue goes though, I paid $2500 for my 94' Q45a. The car's interior is in nearly as new condition though the exterior has some minor blemishes. Note the car came with a $9500 repair bill however. Around $7500 of that was the replacement of the active suspension system however (which doesn't need to be replaced). What I'm getting at, is that repairs are expensive as heck so condition of the car is a BIG deal. If you could get a lower milage 94-95 in good condition for $5k I'd consider that a good deal. It all depends on how much the car is worth to him though.

Best of luck,

Corey

In October I paid 5600 for a 94 IPQ with 82k miles on it.

I did all the fluid changes, changed out a Bose speaker amp, and a resistor..also added car mats and had the front rotors turned.

Now I plan to put an average of 100 dollars a month into things as they wear out. That's parts. Most of it I hope to be my labor.

I love the car.

94-96 Touring Edition in PERFECT unmolested condition, around 100K miles, with good maintenance, from a non-salt state should fetch near $9000. Subtract for any repairs needed, damage, wear, improper modifications, wrong tires, high mileage, weak service history, etc.

It's not hard to find a 94-96 for $5-6000.

natsoundup STOLE his. Great price.

I paid $13,600 in Nov. 01 for an immaculately maintained IPQ touring model in perfect shape with 74K on the clock. Still have over $8K in receipts for repairs/maintenance since then.

I got my 94 for $5500..... 119k

You should be able to get a good one from 4000-6500 for an average one (needs the usual 2000ish to fix, suspension, plenum, etc..... Basically what Ive done to mine!). Its all about playing your cards right.

Service records are very valuable, as mine had none and I got the unlucky end of the deal.

9 years of depreciation should be 90% so $5,000 current 2004 dollars [$3500 in 1994 dollars].50% after 3, 25% after 6, 12.5% after 9.........10 cents on the MSRP dollar. Then add back 8 cents per mile below 120,000 miles

Got my 96 Q45t in 2002 for $11,000 which was dealer trade in, with 45k miles on it, previously owned by old Japanese businessman. It's in excellent condition in and out.Recently paid $130 for AC resistor and $399 for MAF, and that's it.. no problem... plus spent around $30 for floor mat, $190 sheep skin front seat covers, $150 for the tint, $270 for eibach lowering spring + $100 labor, $1500 for the sound and $2000 for the rims,,, real bullet proof car. I wouldn't sell this car even if I were offered the $15k...

Hi Corey,I plan to post pictures of my car as soon as I get my hands on the DVD player and some of those Junction Produce stuff like clear bumper marker and tail garnish kit. Besides, I gotta ask my friend to take the pictures for me too... :DI'm trying to save some $$s and get it done by the end of this year. :)

The yearly depreciation seems to be about $1500 per year between 94-96 so add $3,000 for a 96 [5k +3k= $8k and use 72-80k as the base mileage.

No dealer wants a car they cannot finance for the buyer that means all the 6-7 year old cars sit for 30 days looking for a cash buyer after that they are wholesaled thru the auction.

I picked up my 94 Q45t for $4550 off of ebay in December as a christmas present for my wife.

I got it from a dealer in Arizona, it was a trade in.138k miles at the timeAwesome interior, a few cracks in leather, but no holescarpets spotlessengine you could eat off of (it was at a dealer)good maintenance recordnearly new tires/brakes

I've replaced the starter and resealed the PS rack since purchase, those are the only things that broke. All of my other maintenance has been fluid changes.

When buying a 10 year old car, the first place you should go is to get every fluid flushed. If I had done this first my rack might have still been OK for a while. I talk a good game, but don't usually take my own advice.

Oh yeah, ebay rocks:ylsuper

Last September, I sold my 1995 Q45, with 120k miles, in excellent condition and with extras (extra transmission cooler, new tires, 17" G35 Coupe rims, set of 15" OEM rims, recent plenum cleaning, gasket of both sides of the engine, new upper links, new Tokico Blue shocks, etc.) for $7495. The car was in excellent running condition with just a few dings in the rear bumper and one left side trim peel-back. Did not need any additional work to keep going!

Both the buyer and I were happy with the deal. Just sorry it was not a NICO member, but I did not get any bites here!

In March I bought a 94 Q with 100K miles for $5,800. Dealer's tech looked at it in the safety inspection and said it was sweet. It is in great condition inside and out with newer tires. I bought a 24 month warranty for it ror $1,800 (I'm risk adverse right now). I need new brakes (getting those from AZHitman) a $700 P&L job with sweet rotors oads and ss lines, and just sent it in for 90K service (I didn't have records that was done).

I plan to do the suspension next. My recommendation is that you find a good independent mechanic to do your work, and buy your parts and supplies from the sponsors here. It will save you significant money.

92 Q, $3800 with 169k in April 2003. Nice clean drivetrain. Was literally the only Q for sale in town (missed out on THREE others by a day!)

I paid $5000 for my 94 Q. The interior is perfect. The exterior looks great - a few dings and scratches here and there but nothing big. It had been repainted on the passenger doors, but the hinge seals were never broken. 124K. Runs good. T3 found a laundry list of items to fix/replace but nothing critical except the 120k service.

Black Book Value for this car was $6200.
