Post

I just landed myself a pretty good job, and im gettin kinda bored of driving my Automatic around. (97 olds) Im lookin to buy a different car, and im checking my options. I like the way the 240's look, they are cheap, and reliable from what ive heard. so i just need to see what you guy's think about them, and if they are worth it, and can you throw in what your favorite part about them is??:help

did he even put a period anywhere in there?

reasons to buy a 240: light, RWD, usually pretty cheap, it sports one of the biggest 4 cylinders out there, sure, there are some smaller onesfaster, but they don't sound as good with the grapefruit shooter as a 240 does (b16 sounds like a pissed off bumble bee in a trashcan or something...)

oh yeah, they get what 25-30mpg? I just find them a tad cramped for me though. I think I'd opt for a manual maxima if I could find one for a decent price (or manual cressida cuz man, RWD supra powered sedan is funny...)

A 10 yr old "family" car you're not allowed to drive? Hmmmmm.... Better make sure he doesn overcharge you for it...

You're not going get negative 240sx feedback on a Nissan owners site. Handling and reliability are the 240's strengths. Straightline acceleration and no cupholders are their biggest weaknesses. For me, there was no one thing I liked best. I loved commuting in it and I loved driving it on the track. Very fun, and reliable car that cost me very little to maintain. That's about as good as it gets for a car.

But when buying any used car, knowing a cars maintenance and driving histories are key. If your stepfather maintained it well and didn't beat on it (like drag racing or drifting), then odds are it'll be a good car for you.

Good luck
