You only need 2 "bottles" {quarts} as it will only take aprox 1.5 to refill-this is THE MOST CRITICAL component in the entire drivetrain where a full synthetic oil pays big dividends-operating temp is significantly lower than with dino juice, and more importantly MPG and power transfer is much improved over the dino, especially when cold! Try Redline or Amsiol if you can stomach their tupperware/amway/herbalife pyramid marketing techniqueselwesso wrote:AS long as its GL-5 thats whats most important. Mobil1 is good. you will need to buy 3 bottles as you need 2.5 to fill it up.
Wes this is THE SECOND time I have to correct you on this issue, lay off the sauce! It is 2 & 3/4 pints or almost 1.5 quarts,as I said in my earlier post-no physical way in hell you could refill with 3 1/8 quart !!!!!elwesso wrote:Its 1.5L, 3 1/8 Qt. just take note what the size is, i think most of them are liters.
No, in the US, gear oil is sold in 1-quart plastic bottles. Since there are 2 pints to a quart, and you need 3 1/8 pints to fill, the right thing to do is buy two 1-quart bottles and you will use up just a bit more than one and a half bottles.elwesso wrote:They come by the liter if memory serves so its a non-issue.
Did you mean the gear oil weight? This thread has mentioned it often, I think!AlabamaDan wrote:Ok. Full Synthetic. Good brands. What weight?
