Has anybody replaced the rear wiper on the HB?

Mine doesn't need it yet but I was checking the front ones and the back one to see how they come off and the front ones flip up and lock like they should but the back one gets awful tight before it will click in to the up position. I was afraid to force it to the full up position and was wondering if anyboy had previously done this?

You might see if kc5f has... his V probably has the most miles of anyone on the board, so he is most likely to have needed replacement.

My rear wiper went haywire a short time ago. When you turned the ignition on, the wiper would go back and forth a few times and then stop in a random spot. Then it wouldn't work when you tried the control on the stalk. Dealer replaced the motor and that solved the problem. That's the only problem with the car so far (9000km) - apart from the CEL coming on likely due to a loose gas cap.

The wiper and arm are replaced as one assembly; there should be a cover over the pivot, remove the cover and there will be a nut. Remove the nut and the arm should pop off.

Just saw your reply. Went out and snapped the cover off the pivot end and as you said, there is a nut there for total removal of the entire wiper arm. I hate to even check on the price when I need to replace it as the dealers usually charge twice what a parts store would get for these items.

Thanks for the reply.

I had my rear wiper either fall off or removed while it was parked. It looked as though the wiper arm and blade slide onto the part that's bolted to the motor on the back since I couldn't see any broken plastic at all. Either way, it was replaced under warranty by the dealership (not that they were that happy about it).

Anyone else ever had trouble with it like this?

Thx
