The wiper on my old Z was not just deleted, but it was also shaved, as was the antenna. When I get to repainting my Z in a few years, I will definitely be doing both. Here is a pic

honad's car. (from project slicktop)

[QUOTE=Honad]She's home! I am very satisfied with the work. They did a top notch job. I can't quite go wash the car yet, but as soon as I do expect some manner of photoshoot. Here are the pictures of the clean shaven Slicktop. What Antenna... we don't need no stinkin' antenna. We don't need no stinkin' wiper either.

i work at a kawasaki, yamaha, and polaris dealership and i decided to do a little research. I recalled polaris using a plug similar in size on there older style snowmobiles. I checked it out today. What do ya know its a 30 mm plug. You should be able to get this plug at any polaris dealership for no more than 6 bucks. Its a somewhat common item considering I has 8 in stock. My car is in storage so I havnt done it yet but I think I might have to Moral of story. Go to a polaris dealership and get yourself part number 5410344.

Further on the rear wiper delete, does anyone actually who still has their wiper use it that much? I only drove (read: nursed carefully) my car once on a clear night, no rain so I never used it and am thinking of getting rid of it myself.

I mean, if it is raining hard and you don't use it, can you still see out the back window when driving at 'speed?' I plan to use something like RainX on the windows anyway, plus it seems to me that the shape of the Z wouldn't allow for much rain hitting the back window... So is the back wiper really that necessary?

(My original poast was in the wrong topic, oops... )

Did you do anything to maintain a radio signal?

If so, how?

I'll keep my antenna and rear wiper, that's for sure! Even in Texas, it rains every few weeks and it really helps to have a rear wiper. Just today, we had a torrential downpour and it would have been difficult to see anything if it weren't for my wiper. The antenna is another great thing. I think that it mostly adds to the car and its 90's look. I also get great reception with my antenna.

That's what keeps me off from the antenna delete. I do listen to a lot of radio when driving. It would have to be replaced by some internal antenna right? How is the reception on those?

Cheers,Vítor

I like my rear wiper! I use it alot. If I bring my Z out in the rain I can see out of the back window. If it was just a track driven car than I could see the need to remove it but I like to drive in the rain every once in a while.

Well, most new cars don't come with a rear window wiper and it's fine... I've driven quite a few without any issues... Actually, the surprise is when there is a rear window wiper...

I guess it's just a matter of getting used to it.

This is good stuff.

Possibly see an article in the near future. I'll put it in my "think about list". :bigthumb:

^ Where? A write up is better obviously since people can print it.
