Anyone know if the rear wiper switch for a '98 Pathy is supposed to light up?

I'm re-doing the interior lights and can't remember if it ever lit up or not, as I just go by touch with everything.

Thanks as always, Pwnin.

Off to ebay I go...also need a hazard switch and rear defrost switch as the ones in mine have DOA lights as well.

Just out of curiosity - where is the rear wiper switch on a 98 pathfinder??

My rear wiper switch is on a stalk on the right side of the steering column and is not lit.

The rear defrost switch, however, is on the dash next to the hazard switch, im not sure if its lit. If it is, then mine has been burned out for a long time.

Hi Fueler:

On the '98, it's on a switch underneath the radio bezel (it is on mine, at least).

The interface and controls were moved around a bit during the mid-year design change starting with the 99.5 Pathys, I believe.

I took apart the hazard and rear defrost buttons last week and they both have very tiny bulbs that are hardwired to the housing. If I was electrically inclined, I'm sure I could put a small LED in there, but I'm not.

Your rear window defogger switch is supposed to light up. The bulbs are notoriously difficult to change out, took me about 20 - 30mins. just to put an LED in each switch.

the LED on my cruise control switch went out, so i went to the pick-and-pull and got a replacement switch for $4. easy as pie.

Hey Pwnin, whereabouts in NJ are you? Do you know of any pick and pulls that would have Pathfinders for parts?

I'm in Hackettstown (Eastern Warren county) at I-80. The place I used was in Newark, I just had them ship my parts. Go to car-part.com and in the 'Select Part' field choose something like dash panel and then look for salvage yards around you. I'm sure you can find something near by, if not, most will ship parts or some even deliver for free (the place I used in Newark delivers locally for free).
