Hello everyone,

The rear window wiper on my son's 2001 Pathfinder SE doesn't seem to have enough tension on the glass to work. Do I need to replace the entire arm? Not sure how to get TO the bolt under the arm cover.

Thanks!!!!

The hinge is probably just seized up and doesn't allow the spring to put tension on the wiper arm. This happens to mine all the time. I just soak the hinge with graphite lube.

To take the arm off there is a small plastic cap that you have to remove with a small flat screw driver. Under the cap is a 12mm nut. After you remove the nut, the whole arm should come off with a little bit of wiggling as you pull on it, as it might be rusted on.
Once you have it off just work the arm back and forth while spraying the hinge with a lubricant of your choice.

Yeah, I'd try some form of lubrication before replacement. Mine will need some action soon, its getting pretty stiff.
