To make a long story short, I need to know if anybody has a diagram or realistic pictures of how the lock mechanism, specifically the rod to the window hatch, is suppose to be set up.
I have searched and searched and found nothing. Some say there is exploded view with tons of information in the FSM under the BT section. There is not. There is a drawing of the parts with no explanation.
I can't seem to get the rod in place. If i put it correctly on one clip on one end, the other end is turned a different direction where it will not be able to attach. I found the end that goes into the white clip closest to the latch, not attached, and i dont even know if it's the correct rod because it doesn't seem to line up on both ends. Numerous previous owners so you never know.

If somebody could show pictures of the assembly it would really help.

Thank you,
Samavi

The D diagram on BT-9 of the 99 FSM doesn't cut it?

I had mine apart about a year ago, and I don't recall it being too difficult. I mean, the rods can only reach holes within a specific radius. There are only 3 rods, so the number of configurations is pretty low.

Maybe you could send a pic of what you're working with first so that no one else needs to take apart their truck?

Every so often when I was read about someone asking for help, there will be that one "helper" that responds back either all about their own issue or tells the person it was easy when they did it. And I wonder to myself "How did that even answer their question or benefit them." i mean, because there are only two holes within a specific radius so i must be an idiot.

There is obviously something wrong with the rod, because like i said, it doesn't line up. And I only have 2 rods, btw.

Read into my response however you want, rookie. It wasn't meant to be condescending. With a response like yours, maybe when you find the right rod, I'll tell you where you can put it.

That was a good one. I like the rod comment. Pretty witty. Well I figured it out, I forgot to mention that earlier. Well, I didn't really figure it out, I made it work with what I had. Had to bend the rod a little and have it only hooked to one of the clips and it works great.
