The most obvious symptom is a LOUD roar coming from the rear that does not change as the road surface changes. It is louder than road noise from the tires (plus that road noise tends to change as the road surface changes) and it tends to be audible at low speeds.
Put the car on a lift or jack stands, start the car, put it in gear, and listen to the hubs with a stethoscope. The bad bearing will be OBVIOUS. You will need a press to get the bearing out and the new one back in. I had to cut the outer race out.
All together, and aggravating couple of hours. It took me longer to rehab my rear calipers.
I assume Kiven is referring to the backing plate. Nissan traditionally make thin flimsy backing plates. Once its bent, its bent. Go get another one (Junk Yard).
Wheel bearings do not normally squeak. I associate that noise with a brake caliper not retracting. Pull the wheels and see if the pads are wearing evenly (inside to outside), if not get ready for some personal time with the calipers.
