Hey,

I am new to this forum, having purchased a 2009 Nissan Versa SL w/ CVT about two weeks ago. I am very happy with the purchase thus far; however, I have been experiencing issues with the rear washer fluid pump. The issue is that it does not seem to work and it has not from day one. The line is not frozen and the reservoir is full.

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced any similar issues. I would hate to have to take it back into the dealer, but if that's what I have to do, I guess I will have no choice.

Thanks for any help you may offer.

Cheers,Patrick

Being new, would definately take it to the dealer. I remember hear some have this issue, though I never had a problem. If not going to the dealer, may try to just use compress air to blow out the line.

HI!, I had the same issue when I bought mine. If the front windshield washer is working then the back one should as they are both fed from the same tank and pressurized by the same pump. make sure you are pushing the right side lever that controls the wipers and washers forward, toward the dash! I solved my problem by simply continuing to push the lever forward until all the air was out of the line. Then the washer fluid came and I never had any problems since. it must be a long line and the dealership didn't purge it in my case!Hope that helps!!!

Some individuals have reported that there is a residue from when the fluid was first filled/tested.

Use a needle and poke at the nozzle head to clear the residue.

Hey Folks,

Thanks for the advice. I will try some of the DIY tricks before taking it to the dealer. I will keep you posted.

Hey,

It turned out that the line leading from the reservoir to the rear washer pump was pinched. They fixed it and threw in a free oil change. I already have 9 compted oil changes and asked for a transmission flush or something for the troubles and was laughed out of the dealership. Man, they sure are tight fisted, eh.
