rear view mirror question...

i purchased an auto dimming mirror. it is bigger than the 9093 mirrors. Question: the cover plastic that hides all the bolts, is it the same size as the 9093? reason being the opening needs to be bigger to accept the new mirror post. i can bust out the dremel if nec. but if it fits ill buy it.thanks

The 94 cover is larger, but you can't use it as-is because it does not fit the 90-93 visor assembly very well. The curve to meet the windshield is slighly different.

You will have to modify one or the other of the covers to make it work. I trimmed the 94 one with a box cutter to fit the 93 visor assy, but I think you could also do it with the 93 cover. It does not fit perfectly, but the little center visor flips up and hides it.

You do know that the connectors are not there either, right? You have to splice into the sunroof wiring for +12v, and run down to the cruise control switch for the dimmer wires.

thanks for the info. i will modify my extra one. now the connector on the mirror has 4 wire plugs. i didnt note the colors cause im dumb and its not at my house. any ideas? thanks. this would probably be in the 9496 FSM i would imagine. any help would be great, as long as it doesnt start a fire! thanks!

I don't remember the wire colors but I could pop the cover off and take a look if you can't find it. I do remember that it was hard to find the wire colors in the wiring diagram in the 94 FSM. Do you have the mating connector?

unfortunatley no. but duck tape does wonders!!! but im kinda anal so i got pin connectors from radio shack. just waintin for some answers. thanks

hey guys still need the wiring to make this auto dimming mirror work. i know it has been done but i cant find anything in the seach engine. i dont want to just go putting 12 volts to it and check to see if it smokes. thanks
