Rear View Mirror Loose - Ideas...?

My rear view mirror is loose. A rough bump can easily set it off position.

I didn't really care at first but I notice myself not paying attention to whats behind me---The other day this biker was speeding... He was lucky I lifted my mirror to look so I can move my car out of the way.!! lucky lucky lucky!!!

What can I do? Its a hazard to me as well as these daredevils.

I thought about opening it up and seeing if its possible to tighten something. Just wanted to get your responses/experiences before I go about breaking something.

Backside of mirror has a rubber plug-remove it and tighten screw with phillips screwdriver and send me $125 for consultation fee.

I discovered this fix myself last weekend by prying apart the mirror to see how it works. That'll teach me to Google first!

How do you remove mirror?

There's no need to remove the mirror to tighten it. A stubby screwdriver inserted from the windshield side (after you remove the little round plug) is sufficient.

However if you need to drop the mirror, remove the mini sunshade, then the small panel above it. Unscrew 2 screws to remove sunshade mount, then 3 screws to remove mirror.
