The damn thing never stays where I put it and when it gets warm from the sun it's all over the place. Is this common, and any ideas? I haven't tried to fix it yet because it looks kind of fragile so I thought I'd ask here first.

I had the same problem, I ended up pulling off the assembly only to realize there is a rubber plug covering the bolt to tighten it up. It is a rubber plug the color of your interior on the back side of the mirror itself dead center. It should be an allen/hex machine screw, not sure on the size.

I knew there had to be some way to adjust it, I'll go try that soon.

Thanks qship96, it was the sunroof that is an allen/hex, did it about five years ago.
