Actually, the diffuser does make down force. Not as much as an actual GT wing, but probably more than those cheap knock-off aluminum shopping cart handle. . . I mean GT wing. For your car, to be precise, it won't "create" down force. Currently, your car has lift. That's the floaty felling you get when you go near the triple digit zone. What the diffuser will do for you, is reduce lift. It actually IS measurable even at a mere 60mph, but not really noticable unless you're going faster. The design makes a defference, also, but the goal is to organize the air passing under the car, so any kind of flat surface is better than the under carriage of the 240. Have you seen the undercarriage of the R34? Auto designers are taking advantage of the air flow underneath the cars with newer car. Why can't we? I wouldn't suggest getting the carbon fiber rear diffuser that would require you to sell a kidney, but a even a sheet of aluminum (something light weight) to smooth out the bottom of the car would be noticable at going-to-jail-speeds.You can do it to the front end of the car too, in order to balance out the downforce created by rear wings, and rear diffusers.
