I'm going to drop the rear this week. I'm questioning if I need to bother with the toe adjustments because I don't like the idea of milling the thing out. Is it really necessary on this car? I don't see how the toe can be affected by .5" drop at all.

With a .5 drop, you'll be able to make your toe back into spec without any problem. You need to get an alignment, because when you lower your car, it will change you toe. It will wear down your tires much faster

I can attest to that. 1.5 years into coil overs and my front tires are toast on the inside. Almost on the belts. There's also significant amounts of shredded (cut) rubber along the edges. I'm buying the SPC front and rear arms to get a proper alignment then unfortunately new tires. The rears aren't too bad still a bit of cut rubber but more even wear.
