The Q's 18 inch wheels currently have 245/45 18 Michelin MXM4 tires. I'm considering up sizing the rear to 275/40 18s..

Has anyone run larger tires on the rear?

I'm looking at some Continental Extreme Contact DWS

Jeff Williams runs those on wider ASA wheels for the rears, search for his posts and pix. I think you would need wider wheels in the rear to really take advantage of the wider tires, and downside is it limits or eliminates rotation which could lead to quicker tire replacements depending on your alignment.

I think the main thing you'll get into is offset issues. What wheels are you running now? Aren't they take-offs from another Nissan?

You will want at least a 45mm offset wheel for 275s to fit right.

Those are some Q45 18" wheels with a 35mm offset. I'm beginning to have second thoughts about it with those stock Q45 rims.

Yes, those are way too wide to fit comfortably on that size rim. I know that staggered looks cool, but you can easily fit 245/45 or 245/40 and that is really wide enough for most playing in your Q considering it came with a 15" rim.

I think the rim size you have isn't going to be a good fit for 275.........find 2 other wider rims if your heart is really set on that size. I considered it with M45 06' sport rims which are 1/2" wider and still not a great fit.

Thanks guys for the info.. I'm think I'm going to stick with the 245/45 18s size that's on it today.

Yeah my previous set of wheels were staggered an the "steamroller" look in the back was cool but was terrible on my wallet. I have 245s now and it's 90% there as far as looks. From a performance stand point staggered tires on the Q are actually detrimental to the handling. Increasing traction in the rear only amplifies under-steer
