I'm considering putting the rear tail fin on the back of my 05 coupe. Im wondering if people do it on their own or is it more advisable to have it done professionally. I guess drilling holes through my trunk kind of gives me the shakes, so is it expensive to have done, and if so how bad is it to do yourself?

I purchased a painted spoiler off ebay and had a local body shop install it. I highly recommend this route versus buying at the dealer. My dealer quoted $700 for the job. I had less than $200 invested and the spoiler looks great!

Before I read this, I just got mine installed today at the dealer for $500 complete, I would take the other guys advise and go his route and save $300 bills. I like the look of the spolier but its nice rice & the furious looking..

I respectfully disagree. I think it looks great and it doesn't look like a ricer mod. When I think of a ricer spoiler I think of the ones that are raised up 6 to 10 inches and look like a snow board or bi-plane wing....imho.

Mike,Forgot to mention that we did pay Infiniti $724 to install the spoiler.....And I do know how to turn wrenches, but I'm not brave enough to take a drill to my WIFE's car......

I have to agree with cobra.... factory spoiler is a very tasteful addition to an already classy car. I think lots of G-owners would feel somewhat insulted if they cars were called ricers.

Now if you tack on a two foot tall carbon fiber wing, you're begging for the ricer accusition!
