Hi,

I've got a 91 Infiniti Q45 that shares similar suspension as the Z32. There are some minor differences in the rear with traction arms and upper control arm, but the lower control arms and front suspension is very similar, if not the same.

I'm trying to find the length (end link to end link) of the Z32 rear sway bar. The reason is, for the 90-96 Q45's, only active suspension ones came with a rear sway bar. Obviously, now in 2024, active suspension Q45's are extremely rare to try to source a rear sway bar (that is either a 15mm or 20mm sway bar, with the 20mm being even rarer).

I've been researching this for months to try to find an alternative and I found a picture the other day of what appears to be a an ST suspension rear sway bar from a 300ZX on a Q45 using adapter end links and some washers. But no one can confirm on the Q45 community side if its actually a 300ZX bar (the car was bought this way, no history).

If we can confirm the 300ZX bars can fit, that would be a huge benefit as we no longer need to source them nearly extinct active suspension models. Unfortunately I do not have any Z32's in my local junkyard, so that's why i'm reaching out here to see if someone would be kind enough to do this measurement.

If anyone is willing, please provide the measurement of the rear sway bar from end link to end link so I can compare to the measurement I took off my Q45 (46")

Here are some pictures of the sway bar in question and also the measurement I need. Thanks!

The bar sure looks like my ST rear with same end links minus the 4 spacer washers.

I am doing a diff R&R likely this month on my Z32, if you can wait till then, I'll do some measurements.

That'd be great! I've got plenty of time, so I can be patient. Thanks

End link distance measures 43-3/16” (at middle holes).

Interesting, the Q45 is about 45.75", so slightly over 2" difference. But that's using the straight vertical links. So it does seem likely that a Z32 bar will fit if using the conversion links (vertical to horizontal) and then spacing it out (with a longer bolt).

Thanks for checking and confirming!

No problem I was under there anyways.
My measurement was at mid thickness so you can add about another 1/4 " for outside to outside end link mount.
Some thing like 7/8" bushing sleeve on a longer high strength bolt will work.
When I have time on the weekend I'll measure the link to link distance also.
