Received my 20mm sway bar from poppop yesterday and planning to install it this weekend if time permits.

I'm going to put some metal washers (per Q45 tech) on the end of each end link bushing. Any other suggestions to optimize it's performance or make this job easy would be appreciated.

Oh, and if anyone has pics of one installed that would be helpful.... I'm sure I can figure it out but pics are always great.

TIA

...Drew...

You may want to soak your bushing in something to extend the life Mark prior to installation! You can maneuver bar up around suspension and over top of exhaust w/o dropping rear exhaust! DO NOT get frustrated and drop exhaust because you can't get it! Just tell yourself that if PopPop did it I can do it! If not just drop one rear rubber hanger at right or left rear wheel to make installation more easier. Only one 12mm bolt! If you have any problems during install call me!

Remember the way the bar attaches to suspension arm that the +- 3.0 inches of suspension range gets divided by 4...............so 10% slack in each direction is 0.075" at/thru the entire endlink mounting/moving process.

Each bushing [4] can have 1/4 of 0.075" compression or expansion slop.........but you only have the top and bottom adjusting nut to tighten all 4 bushings.

Get them too tight too compressed and they will split wide open in a short time.

Soak it in what though? I'll see if they have anything at pep boys. When I felt them they were pretty hard. I'm wondering if I can buy some of the same size (300zx?) at Pep boys or something. I'll try my best not to dop the exhaust but I've never messed with one of these before...have to see how to fits. Thanks for the advice folks.

Wurth rubber preservative. Not available at Pep Boys.

You do not have to drop anything, but a lift sure helps provide clearance.

I had to drop the exhaust a little... I just removed the rear hangers on mine, hoewver due to my modified exhaust its much easier than on a stock Q, so i didnt bother with trying otherwise...

again, i havent done it on a stock Q but i dont know HOW you would do it without lowering the exhaust. Id be interested if tyrone would shed some light.

I was able to remove the rear sway bar on a junk car without removing the exhaust hangar. It comes out but there's a lot of twisting and turning to get there. When I went to install it on my car I removed the hangar. It only takes a minute to remove the rearmost hangar (pry it off with a screwdriver) and you're home free. This drops the exhaust about 2" and gives lots of clearance, with less twisting and turning of the bar. The FSM has a couple of good drawings showing orientation and where the brackets and connecting rods mount.

Before installing, spray all the threaded holes with PB Blaster to clean out all the road grime. Easy job all in all with great results.

Sorry, I didn't take any pictures. Pages RA-15 through RA-18 of the FSM shows it all.

Wes Brian is with Mark! Brian has one he should be installing soon ask him next week did he have to drop the exhaust or not! You can twist and turn to remove it but, to install if you don't follow that same route it will never go back in without dropping one side or rear hangers!

Don't have it yet, but in retrospect, the rear most hangers may have been disengaged. Can't remember, but it is trivial on a lift. I had to show the technician the correct orientation and link set-up.

Sometimes All-Data is just Some-Data.

This time I will have to pull the t rear bar off first. Hmmmm....that means I have extra clamps....DOH! If anyone needs them, email me.
