First, I did as much searching for the answer for this before posting.

Just got my 02 i35 in August and started hearing a squeak in the rear in January. It sounded to me like a strut mount bushing. Now the squeak is gone and there is a significant rattle over bumps at slow speeds. At 115K it seems like the struts need replaced. Still rides well at speed. I'm also interested in replacing the mounts and bushings. All the searching I've done is for aftermarket/performance struts/shocks. I'm not looking for upgraded performance or adjustability but more for a direct stock replacement. Anyone know of something like this?

Also what bushings should I check/replace? Finally, should I look into replacing the springs also? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you replace the strut mounts previously? Generally, a rattle going over bumps is either a strut mount issue or a bad sway bar end link.

I just replaced my shocks and struts today with KYBGR2's. I also replaced the strut mounts and bearings with Moog brand. I should have ordered new rear mounts as well. Mine are a little rough and the shock mount seals on the rear are toast. Sometime this summer I'll replace the rear mounts and seals.
Huge difference in how soild and firm the car feels with the new struts. I only went for about a 10 mile test drive, but so far I'm quite pleased with the results. Oh, and I only have 73K on my car.

Thanks for the input guys looks like I'm going with the KYB Gr-2s for the rear.

Here is a list of what I'm going to replace:

Rear Shock/Strut Assemblies
Rear Shock/Strut Mounts
Dust Boots and Bump Stops

I think this should be all I need (besides a spring compressor). If I missed something please let me know because I'm going to ordering soon.

Anyone know where I can get a replacement bolt/hardware for the lower bolt?
Best place to get all of this?

Thanks again. Jay

You'll likely need shock mount seals as well. Mine were trash. I think they're a dealer item.
As for the shocks KYB Outlet has decent prices. They have all 4 struts for $300.

I just remembered now..:)
I had kinda similar issue with the rear wheel.. It was bouncing like the wheel was bent and noone could tell what was wrong with it..:) Mechanic told to replace the bearing.. I did it myself and replaced the brake pads..:) and discovered that the brake cylinder was pushing and not releasing the pressure, thus kinda holding brake rotor and making wheel spin unevenly.. Try to inspect ur brake pads to see uneven wear comparing left and right wheels. Or it might be suspension bar....... strut mount
