Rear suspension not comfortable....(just changed shocks, what else do I need?)

I just changed my shocks and struts as the OEM ones were leaking on my 02 pathfinder SE. The front seems to take bumps much better but the rear is still very stiff! Of course, it's slightly better than before but over any pothole or bump in the road the effect is quite jarring for passengers in the rear.

I read somewhere that there was a TSB where a bumpstop for the rear springs was installed to prevent bottoming out... do you guys think that this is my problem? What other rear suspension parts can I change?

Oh yeah, I changed my shocks and struts to the KYB GR2 ones.

Stiffness has everything to do with the spring rate. As long as rebound is controlled, your shocks are doing their job, but there's not much you can do for stiffness. I bet it rides better with rear seat passengers or some gear in the back. That's why it's stiff - for load carrying capacity

I just found:

http://72.3.186.203/TSB/TSB_xm...lyear=

TSB: NTB02081 - If the customer of an applied 2000-2002 Pathfinder complains of an impact feeling/noise under these conditions: · over bumps or dips in the road and · with the vehicle fully loaded (5 occupants and/or heavy load in the cargo area) The cause may be the rear suspension compressing fully, or "bottoming out." If this is occurring, replacement bound bumpers and steel bound bumper seats are now available which should reduce the feeling/noise. The Service Procedure in this bulletin will direct you how to install these replacement bound bumpers, if you find out they are needed. See this bulletin for detail.

If this is my problem, how much will it cost to take my pathy to the dealer to have this fixed? If it's expensive I might want to do what:

jimmyzzer did here zerothread/334631 and install the 1/2" medium-heavy duty coils https://www.4x4parts.com/catal....html from 4x4parts.

Hmm...what to do...

It feels more like bottoming out than just "stiffness"... like there is hardly any give over bumps larger than an inch or two.
