I have a '94 Q45 with standard suspension.

The cross member bushings need replacing, but I can't any info about the bushings in the service manual or Infiniti parts online.

There are a few posts about replacing them, one actually replacing them without dropping the frame.

Attached are a couple of pic's. Excuse the dirt, It's been kinda muddy around here lately.

Can anyone help me with these questions?

Does the frame need to be dropped?
Do they need to be replaced, or can spacers be used to take up the slack?
If spacers can be used, are there hard rubber ones available, or are they metal.

Thanks,

On my Y33 I used a S14 240sx bushing kit (Energy 7.1118G) for the differential carrier. You may be able to use a 240sx kit for the subframe bushings, but those are alI most likely going to be polyurethane which will introduce a lot of noise and harshness into your ride.
I want to say the Q45 1990-2001 rear suspension/subframe has a direct parts interchange with the S13/S14 240sx, but please do not take my word for it.
If you manage to source some bushings and you want to replace them, you will have to drop the subframe, 100%. It takes a torch and a big f*** hammer to remove the old bushings. It is not an easy job.

Thanks for the reply.

I read in one post that someone had installed metal collars on both sides of the existing bushings. It looks like a good fix. Have you seen any feedback on that?
