Starting the rear of my '86 Z31 this week rear stabilizer bar, struts, spring and polys. Replaced rotors and studs, and placed ceramic pads on the rear after wreck on course last fall, (Pads are ready for replacment again). Have polys for rear struts, rear stabilizer bar, waiting to get trans poly mount before replacing control arm and rear differential mounts. Will probably order engine mounts at same time for after I recieve my RB26DET and 6 speed trans. Coming very soon, found a nice site with JDM engines and transmission with miles under 15,000. Considering twin turbos and large intercooler, after I order my low profile radiator and Flexfans.

Also have almost all air condition components removed, along with California emmision components.

if you get a "low miles JDM engine" unless you get the front cut that has the cluster, it's milage unkown, of the "low miles engines I've bought, one had oversized beargins, so it's been rebuilt before, which is odd for a "low miles" engine, the other was in worse shape than the 200k mile engine I was replacing, the 200k mile engine would up back int he car

The VG30E I have just isn't satifying to me. I found an RB26DET w/ a 6 speed trans. I assumed i'd have to do a few mods. I need more HP, and a stonger trans... I'm a frequent drifter. Thats the reason for all the suspension upgrades. And I'm looking at those Kumho colored smoked tire for my replacments on the rear and I'm rotating my Bridgstone Potenzas to the front. Before the front suspension upgrade I had a negative camber on the passenger side causing quick wear on the inside... I'm also going to have the rear adjusted to a negative camber so it will pull in to a zero camber when its floored. I relize that this will tend to cause oversteer, but once again it will work well with my drifting.

Also recieved more stuff today from my sponsor Royal Purple. New show tent, banners, promo stickers and product info for shop... and my case of oil I get every 60 days. Now if they'll get that paint check to me. Yeah I'm gonna have Royal Purple printed across my paint scheme until contract runs out.

the rear camber on the Z31 is pretty much never at zero, if the car is lowered you can slot the crossmsmber to take some of the camber out but you'll always have positive camber, which in drifting positive camber int he rear is a good thing, it makes ti easier to brake traction as your contact patch is smaller due to the camber

okay, I was reading and if , maybe it was a positive camber, but like when I floored it it was my understanding they would pull to zero just under acceleration. Ohterwise it would sit and drive with a slight positive camber as you said... I really appreciate your advice and ideas with ever changing upgrades and mods. Thanks again evil!

I mistyped or confused myself, it's negetive camber, and if you suspension moves that much you don't have it set up right, if you want to drift you should have very high rear spring rates and very little articualtion of the trailing arms

What do you mean high spring rates? Like the stock ones? I was going to install coil-overs as the car developed to need them. I was just going on basic camber theory, sooner or later I have to a pretty stiff set-up for the drifting as you said. I'm doing things as power improves and I'm always wanting better handling, anything new and better! You know what I mean!?

But he claims to be a 34 year old mechanic, y0! Can't you read his profile?

Now do you understand why I give this a** clown as much s*** as I do? The admins banned his stupid a** from another web forum for being incredibly stupid. I only played a small part in pushing him over the edge.
