I pulled out my rear subframe, patiently removed the bushings, sand blasted the subframe, painted it yesterday put in solid aluminum bushings. I had them in the freezer for a day. They didn't just drop in so I used a precision pound-o-meter and piece of aluminum to not scuff the bushings. They seemed to go in straight and without a lot of effort. So today i tried to put the subframe back on the car and the stud centers and bushing centers are not in the same spot so it is binding when i tried to put it on. I tried using jack and piece of wood to press it on but no success (car is on jack stands and stripped so not a a lot of weight to it). When i removed the subframe in the beginning it came off very willingly. the car is a 1992 240sx coupe. How do i figure out if the frame is untrue or the subframe is untrue. Or any other ideas for that matter . . . .

Thanks

heavy rubber mallet and a can of PB blaster.

When you burnt out the old ones it probably changed the metal some

I didn't use any heat to remove the old bushings. It is out by a bit, maybe an 1/8.

problem solved. used a piece of wood and a hammer to get the it on enough to thread on the nuts and then evenly tightened them down.
