Ok, I take my car to the autox, and i autox. I come back, first day, no problem, second day, I hear some squeaking, by now, almost two weeks later, squeaking is frequent, coming from the rear. I've searched this just now, they say brake pads need replacing. But what I have noticed, is that on the top part of the brake (forgive my lack of terminology) there seems to be a clip between the brake and the top part of the rotor. If you were to look at the brakes on your s14 you would see this lil clip that sticks out a lil bit.

On my rear left tire that clip is missing, could that be a source of my constant squeaking? its too dark out now for mee to look at the pads, what do worn out pads look like anyway, one guy when i did my search said his pads were stuck to the rotor glowing red but mine is not red. I dunno, preciate it if anyone knows if this lil clip is causing my squeaking maybe, thanks in advance

there is a clip on brakes that starts to rub on the rotor when your pads get too low and it makes a squeaking noise. if you dont have this clip then thats not it, but could be something else. im not sure if you are talking about this same thing. i have squeaking in my rearend sometimes when i go around corners or over bumps, but it is because i lowered my car and its coming from where the top of the strut attaches to the car in the trunk. probably cause i didnt pout the gasket back on, but no big deal.
