Hello Everyone:

I have been a forum lurker since I bought my 2009 Rogue S in the Fall of 2009 but this is my first post. :wavey:

My rear spray washer is more of a stream right down the back of the rear window than a sprayer to the center of the rear window. I use the rear washer often and the rear wiper barely gets any of the washer fluid that dribbles straight down from the spray nozzle. Its very ineffective at cleaning the back windshield and its becoming an issue in the wintry weather when I need to clear my back window quite frequently.

I took a look at the nozzle and didn't see any easy way of adjusting it, hence the post. Anyone know of a way to re-aim the nozzle to spray the wash towards the middle of the windshield so the rear wiper arm can effectively clear the rear window?

Thanks!

-Ryan

My rear washer fluid nozzle shoots out a stream as well, it doesn't spray at all...same with the front ones, they just shoot a stream of fluid in 2 spots

Agreed, the nozzle points too far off to one side and the wiper has a hard time moving the fluid around.

The nozzle is like the tip of a ball point pen and can be re-positioned. You just need a suitable piece of small diameter steel wire (a drill bit will do). Simply insert into the nozzle and push the nozzle to where you want it. It may be quite stiff the first time you move it, take your time.

Finally, if your wipers are more than 1yr old I suggest replacing them. I have never found universal replacements for the wiper blades as the wiper assembly is one piece. You will need to get replacements (refills) from the dealer instead:

I had the dealer replace the rear wiper insert because it was chattering, it helped for a bit but returned..i just quit using it all together :)

The Rogue is my 6th SUV, I've found that Rain-X works wonders on the rear windows. With all the road grime that gets kicked up on the rear window the wipers don't last long. I also notice the 2011 rear wiper washer nozzle is different from previous years.

I clean and re-coat the Rain X about every 6 months.

does rain x leave windshield haze? (when the wiper passes over the windshield a slight white streak follows but disappears a few moments later, and reappears when the wiper makes another pass?)..this pertains more to the front windshield than the back window

Thanks for the replies! :bigthumb: I re-aimed the rear washer with a pin from a dress shirt... ha. It seems to have improved the spray angle a bit but still isnt the greatest. I will definitely use the Rain-X tip.

I am always using my rear washer especially in a nasty winter like we are having up here in northern New England. The rear window is covered in dirt/salt/ice/snow at all times and we all know the rear view backing up angles arent the greatest.

Does this count as my first mod? jk! :mike :mike
