I have been wondering the same thing. From my understanding, they are pretty difficult to get to. On the other hand, the door speakers are very easy to access and replace. Only took me a couple of hours and I have no car experience. I do think the rear speakers are 6 x 9.

One of the speakers in the rear speakers burst earlier this week and I want to replace that one. I suppose I can replace the pair but does anyone happen to know the part number of the rear speaker and tweeter or have a picture of this?

We have an incredible SEARCH feature on this forum. Rear speaker size highlighted in BOLD.

Layzer wrote:I am not a true audiophile but I do love a good system! Most importantly did you replace the factory HU? That will give you some gains in power due to the stock HU not pumping out that much RMS power. Plus an aftermarket HU will give you more EQ control. And to answer your question, yes installing the rears will increase the bass a little bit but like Mike said if you want noticeable increase you will have to get a subwoofer.

My setup is a JVC KW double din HU, with 6 1/2 polk speakers with silk-dome tweeters in the front and 6 x 9 5-way silk tweeter polks in the the back with a JL 10inch sub in the very back. With the sub turned off my setup still has a better kick than all my friends stock cars.

Honestly the best advice I can give from experience is :nono: DO NOT :nono: cheap out on audio equipment. Go on crutchfield.com and look at nice higher end speakers and build up from there. Their staff is extremely helpful and will hold your hand the whole time to get the perfect set up. Personally I would shy away from pioneer/kicker/sony speakers and shoot for mid to high range brands like rockford, polk, something that will give you the sound and reliability you want without breaking the bank. Obviously this is future advice since you will want to upgrade eventually :D I went through several sets of speakers before I found my current setup which I absolutely love and I am still improving it.

Best of luck! :dblthumb:
Hey! Yes, I did replace the stock head unit with the Pioneer AVH-5500BHS double-din. The dash, front, and rear speakers I first looked up on Crutchfield and then got them at a much cheaper price on ebay. I got the Kicker 40CS354 for the dash, Pioneer TS-A1675R for the front, and Pioneer TS-A6995R for the rear. I installed the dash (which was a BIG pain) and the front speakers and then had a shop install the rear for $25. The rear speakers sound real good and pushing ALOT of bass. I'm not looking for a big system, just something with good bass and these rear speakers have it! I'm content. :)

PM either me or Broadfield. I can tell you about the products, but broadfield can tell you more, and he sells them. He's the one that put me onto hybrid audio in the first place...

http://www.hybrid-audio.com
http://store.12velectronics.com/categor ... hnologies/

factory replacement for the 2010 Altima coupe are:

3.5" x 3 in the dash
6.5" x 2 in the doors
3.5" x 2 tweeters in the rear deck
6" x 9" midbass/subbass in the rear deck.

those are just the speaker sizes, but you will want to do something a little different if you replace them.. i.e. go with a component setup for your front stage to replace the 3.5" and 6.5" with 1" tweeters and 6.5" midbass/midrange.

For a budget friendly setup, without a seperate sound processor:
Mirus 6.5" coaxials up front $169
Mirus 6"x9" full range in the rear $199
Imagine 10" subwoofer $269

5 channel Amplifier options:
Rockford R600x5 $399
JL Audio 500x5 $499
Alpine MVRX-V70 $270

So you could do all of this for about $1000, then you would have to just get someone to install it all...

again, you can go cheaper on the speakers by going with other companies (Infinity, prioneer, alpine, etc.) and save money, but I can't in good faith recommend anyone to use speakers other than hybrid audio. Another option , you could probable get away with some cheaper rear speakers and subwoofers, but be sure at minimum that your front stage is a hybrid audio technologies product!!!!!

hope this helps.. PM for my number so that we can chat about everything! good luck!

Go to http://www.nissanpartsdeal.com, put in you VIN and it will list every part, it's corresponding number, and show a drawing of the part.
