REAR SPEAKERS NOT WORKING

Hello everyone, i have a 1993 240sx vert, i recently installed an alpine head unit and new sony speakers front and rear, also two subs powered by a rockford fosgate amp, all worked fine for about a week than the four speakers in the car stopped working although the amp and subs continued to operate ok, i took the head unit out and examined all the connections, all seemed fine but still no speakers, when i disconnected the plug for the rear speakers the front speakers came on, i put the plug together again, all speakers went out, although the rears and fronts all went on for about five seconds before shutting off, i am driving the car now with just the front speakers and subs working, can anyone help me with this problem, thank you in advance. john

Check all of your wiring. Sounds like something's backwards.
