Anybody know what type of stock speakers are in 1994 Q45. I have been experiencing some nasty static and it may be time to replace them.

It's the capacitors in the Bose amps.

If you're interested in just replacing the stock Bose speakers for another set of Boses, I have a pair that I recently pulled that were working fine.. Email me if you are interested: [email protected]. But with that said, I'd rather recommend you upgrade to a good aftermarket setup if money allows...Oh yah the rears are 6x9s btw

When the speaker amps are working (gotta replace both electrolytic capacitors in each speaker amp) the OEM BOSE system is as good as it can get. It is completely optimized for the interior volume and upholstery materials. Of course, each owner is a subjective critic. My spouse (concert pianist) LOVES her Bose system--says the sound rings true.
