My rear speakers are blown and I'm trying to find out if there are any after market speakers I can replace them with. I called my local infiniti dealer and I've been quoted $500+ a piece for new speakers which is too expensive for me. I could send my old ones to Clarion and have them replaced with used refurbished speakers for like $280. I really don't want to rip out my entire BOSE system and replace it but I'm not sure what other options I may have except the ones I mentioned. Please help if anyone knows of any aftermarket speakers or any BOSE speakers for cheap I can replace with!!!!!

If I'm correct with this, your J30 has 6 1/2" speaks in the rear which would open you up to a ton of possibilities for quality speakers without shelling out that much a pair, let alone a piece.

I try not to get into the whole argument of what speakers are better than what. I personally like Eclipse and Nakamichi but than again it's all really a matter of personal preference.

You can check those two out here:http://www.eclipse-web.com/http://www.nakamichi.com/

Actually the rears are 6x9s, and cannot be replaced w/ aftermarket b/c the Bose system runs at one ohm.

Try this Jriz:

This maybe your problem, otherwise I think the repairs from these guys are cheaper than sending it back to Clarion.

I would suggest just fading it full to the front and not worrying about about the rears if you dont want to spend the money, you get decent midbass out of the small front drivers (4 in., I think) - I run mine about 80% to the front and it sounded pretty good before I changed out the headunit and better since.

I have a 91 Q45 that has some perfectly good Bose 6x9's in them that will not be used anymore as I am going to replace the whole system soon. Let me know if you would be interested. Are you sure that it is not the factory amps on the 6x9s that are toast? What kind of sound do you get out of them?

Thanks for the help guys. When I took it to the infiniti dealer I had them check out my car and they said it was the speakers that were blown. The left rear is worse than the right as it makes a rattling sound which gets real bad when the car is cold but quiets down after it has been warmed. The sound is still loud but just not as clear as before. I just want to get my sound back to normal cause i don't even like playing my radio anymore now.

I thought mine were blown also, bad buzzing with deep bass, called the guys below in FL... they could have easily said "yeah, you need to send 'em in for repair"...I would have believed them.

Instead, the guy I talked with, Bob, was super nice, told me about the epoxy fix for the black cones. It seems that after awhile the original glue/epoxy breaks loose and then they buzz like hell. That was a couple of years ago...the epoxy fix has held and I can crank them to the max with no distortion. Even if they do need repair, I can not speak highly enough of this company...they even show you how to do the fix now! Give it a shot.

P.S. Just noticed that NY94J30 gave you the same link...well this is a confirmation...awesome company!
