Was wondering if its possible to hook up any 6x9 speakers to the bose amps in the rear. Would this be bad?

I expect everything to run fluid but just wanna make sure

My driverside rear speaker is blown and the rattling is finally getting to me.

From my experience, it's possible, but the results are mixed. The stock Bose 6x9 are approximately 2 ohms impedance, and I replaced a blown pair with 6 ohm Kenwoods (the standard impedance for a speaker is 8 ohms).

The result is that the stock Bose amps could not drive those 6 ohm Kenwoods, even at full volume. The original door speakers were overpowering, even with the fader adjusted. If your 6x9 replacements are 8 ohm, then the effect would be worse.

I was able to find replacement 6x9's on Ebay, and I yanked out the Kenwoods.

Just buy a used one. Check with member (goody94q45) and see if he has one. He is a super nice guy! He's in Orangevale, CA. I believe that's pretty close to where you are.

Yes hes not that far I would really like to meet him and check out his Q. I actually have a few things I need from him but right now is just not the right time to go shopping for the Q as catching up with long needed maintainence and getting the car back into shape must come first

Besides these speakers are just lying around in the garage... Eventually I'll replace it with a bose speaker as subwoofers sound great with the factory bose system.

I don't think Mike has anymore stock speakers.

I just have the fronts right now but there's a couple of junker Q's in Sac that I'm waiting for the price to come down on.....Maybe soon.
