Does anyone have any documentation on what to remove to get at the 2 rear 6x9s without butchering the rear deck? I have a copy of the '94 FSM, but outside of the electrical schematic, there is little else to go by.

Original Bose 6x9's need refoaming - or outright replacement (with a pair of Rockford Fosgates or JBLs), and would like to keep the Bose rear amp and original HU. HECK- I still have the ancient phone setup, where the phone recepticle is too narrow for a decent sized IPod.

Many Thanks in advance!

You have to take the back set off. First the bottom seat itself it has to little clicps on the fron of it. (one on each side). Pop those.. The tkae it out. Now for the back part of the seat it has 6 screws. 4 at the bootm.. and 2 behind the little arm rest thingy... THen wen that comes out... You have to pop out the rear break light fixture. Its pops out.. No screws holding it. ... Now you have to pop out the back deck area.. You will see how to take it out.. It just pops out.. No screws holding it down.

i wish i had pics.. but its easy.. takes me maybe 30 mins to replace 6x9 and put everything back.

Many Thanks! Sounds like a rainy day project. May as well add the seat covers while I'm at it, since it's gotta come out. At least the rattle from those blown speakers will be HISTORY!

Best Regards!

Note: The Bose 6x9s used a treated cloth surround. More then likely they are NOT rotted.

Anyways, good thinking. The bose speakers sound like crap.

Next up for you is to put a set of 6.5 components in the front

i did that.. I even tried to get 6x9 in the fronts.. but it wouldnt fit rigt... so.. im 6.5 in front and (4)6x9 in the back.. <-- unprofessional. I took off that back compartment and screwed (2) 6x9 back there.. Sounds good though.. All on 1000Watt amp.
