I am a single father and my son doesn't live with me permanently, he's always going to live with his mom and coming back to me and vice versa. This is the only car I have, it's my toy, however I noticed one day while putting my son in his car seat, that there was a picture in the door jam with a warning against placing a car seat back there due to the side impact airbags... however Infiniti made the car to accomodate car seats obviously with the little car seat logos on the seats and the latch points on both sides. So my question is this, is it possible to disable the side impact bags at least on one side if not both? I know that in my 2005 Mazda Tribute I used to have before this car, the passenger bags could be turned off. This is my only concern because... well... he's my son.

I don't think I'd worry about it. The side airbags don't inflate nearly as much as the front ones. Personally, I'd rather have the protection from glass if you were to get sideswiped. To answer your question, I don't know if it's possible.

InfinitiTech?

InfinitiTech? is that a website? anyway, I wasn't really worried about it at first, but I began thinking, if I did get side swipped and something happened to my 3 year old boy because of the force of that airbag hitting his car seat I would be devastated. You really think it's all good? Those airbags deploy with a lot of force.

As long as you put the car seat in the middle seat I think you would be all right. I doubt the airbags would extend that far but that's just my opinion.

Call your local infiniti dealer and ask them if there is a way to disable the airbags.

My G doesn't have a middle seat in the back. >.< No problem, I guess I will just have to call the dealer. Thanks though
