Rear Shock Knock Pissing Me Off!

I have just replaced the rear shocks with brand new Monroe's. Before this, i was on the stock struts, one of which was completely blown. Before i had this done, the car was unstable over bumps and on the passenger rear had a knocking sound coming it.

Now that i had the new ones put it, the knocking and instability has stopped from that side but started on the drivers rear now. I replaced both driver and passenger rear so i cant imagine why its doing that!

I have bounced the car up and down on the good side and its tight. On the other side its got a lot of play.

Are you sure the top strut bolts are good and tight? I just replaced my rears with KYB GR2's and after a few hundred miles I started getting knocking from my D/S too. The top nut actually broke through the flimsy washer they gave me and the strut ended up coming out from its mount.

Also, did you replace all the rubber pieces when you changed the struts?

The top strut bolts are tight. I just feel as though my new strut it blown, perhaps a defective part. I didnt replace the rubber pieces because they were in good condition.
