How long can you expect rear shocks to last? My '98 I30t has 74,000 miles, and I had front struts replaced, but I'm wondering about the rears. Is that coil/shock combo like the front; do you have to compress rear springs and disassemble that way?

most the timethe rear struts dont last as long as the fronts... Most times they are 2x stiffer than the rear, since most of the weight is over them (stiffer springs).....

Anyway, i would say at 74k (8 years) you should look inot replacing them, but theyre not TOTALLY shot yet.
