Can someone with the premium package (I think... rear power seats and sunshade?) tell me if the center console switches are momentary or toggle switches? I have the switch blanks, and I want to install some aftermarket electronics and what I really need is a single-pole double-throw rocker switch, but I can probably make do with any toggle switch. Momentary (one that you have to keep holding down) won't work for me.

Thanks

From left to right: driver's climate controlled seat, blank (with AWD this may be the location for that switch?), sunshade (latched up/down), rear controls (latched on/off), passenger's climate controlled seat.

Not sure a latched switch will do what I want it to do. I presume it loses it's state when the engine is shut off, or if not, it's state is probably maintained by some computer.

Yeah, the blank on yours is the "snow" mode for AWD.

I am assuming you do not have the Premium package. If you are adding aftermarket electronics, what these switches do in the Factory state has no bearing on what you are doing. You can wire these switches (or any other) to do what you want.

I do not have the premium package. Is it latched physically or electronically?

They are latched mechanically. From what I gather, you want a SPDT switch? Neither of these will accomplish that through just the switch itself; although you could add relay(s) to make it work. Or, if wanting to keep it appearing Factory and not add relays, you could go with another Nissan product switch that is SPDT. My girlfriend has a 2011 Sentra, and the heated seat switches are SPDT. They look to be the same size as the blank outs in the Infiniti.

There's more than enough room underneath the console to add relays and keep it looking factory. I have two down there. Although I wish I knew about the sentra switches before.

Yes, there is room for relays under the console. The point was that the Factory switches as pictured above are not SPDT. So, depending on the OP's 12 volt abilities, and current draw of the circuit(s) he is trying to add would dictate the use of either a different switch, or the use of relays.

The rear sunshade switch always goes back to the central position after you release it. The rear control lockout switch and the "Snow" switches are 2 positions (no central position; either on or off); they stay at whatever position you leave them in.

I may have posted a similar thread like this once upon a time. However, it wouldn't have been called rear sunshade and lockout switches. My posts also may have been in a nav hack post, or I may have never made them and only dreamed about it. Regardless, I have the premium package without RWD (which is what you have pictured). The rear sunscreen switch is definitely momentary, you can release it and the sunscreen goes all the way regardless. The rear control cancel switch is definitely mechanical, it rocks and stays that way when you push cancel (when sitting as pictured in your post, it is in the on position). However, I doubt it is multi-pole. My idea was to use the blank and fabricate a double-pole double-throw push button into the blank cover. This would require significant fabrication, but be really cool because it's blank and no one else knows it's a button. I'm not much of a fabricator, so I never messed with it, but I had found a double-pole double-throw (mechanically) latching push button that would easily fit under it that cover and probably be easy to fabricate into it (if anything it would be too small). You might go searching for that thread, but since I'm not sure it exists, that could turn out to be quite the snipe hunt, and the only thing it would provide would be the link to the button (which may have been posted by me) or the site with the buttons (which may have been posted by someone trying to help me). Nonetheless, I wanted to answer your questions and stick a cool idea in your head (regarding the blank cover).

Thanks everyone... I'll see if I can get one of the other Nissan switches or the rear lockout switch.

I ordered a pair of 35 seat heater switches with pigtails on eBay for $25. Not positive they will fit yet, but they look to be about right. Insert from the bottom w/ two locking tabs on each end. They appear to be SPDT for high and low settings with LED indicators. I'll have to figure out the pinout but they should work nicely. Just need to relabel them somehow. Pretty sure 350z switches are the same also.

On a side note, does anyone know the part number for the blanks? I can't find it in the parts diagram. It has all the actual switch part numbers but not the blanks. I might install some USB ports in one one of the blanks if I can find one.

So these will work if anyone is curious... I am using it to power an android tablet. I have a 12v-to-5v dc-dc converter from amazon (~$7). I will hook up the "high" position on the heated seat switch to constant 12v power. the "low" position will be connected to switched 12v power. That way I can have the tablet charging all the time even when the car is off (high), only when the ignition is on (low), or not at all (off) based on the position of the switch. i did have to modify the switch slightly so that the indicator light would work correctly. if you open the switch, there is a small white plastic carriage with two contacts in it. you must remove the spring-loaded contact at the edge (not the 3-pronged one shaped like an 'E'), otherwise the indicator will only light in the "low" position and not in the "high" position.

Yellow -> 5v dc/dc converter input
Black -> 12v constant power (battery)
Green -> 12v switched power
Red -> Ground

The other two leads are for illumination (cabin lights), brown+, blue-, however, you probably don't want to hook these up since they will illuminate the seat heater icon and arrow, which white paint will come off, but it's clear underneath. I taped over the indicator light and sprayed the rest of the switch with black paint.

I got pigtails with the switches so I can wire the pigtail into the car and then plug the switch into the pigtail so that I can still easily remove the switch panel.

If anyone wants to use these switches for anything and needs help, let me know.

Well I may have spoken too soon... The switch actually looks like it's a fraction too small to fit in the openings. I'll post when I actually try and snap it in.

So the G35 switches are a no go. I got a 2005 Altima switch it it's the right size.

Image

It appears the trick is to find ones with a flat rocker switch and that have the little tactile nubs at the top and bottom. Looks like some Altima models and 350z switches are the ones to get. I still needed to to open up the switch and remove one of the contacts to get the indicator light to work how I wanted. There also some out there that have two indicator lights instead of one that may or may not work.

I finally got around to installing this. I tried to paint over the seat icon. It doesn't look terrible but not great either. Anyway, I can set my tablet to charge all the time (car on or off), only when the car is on, or I can shut it off completely.

Black -> GND
Grey/Red -> Batt
Grey -> ACC
Green -> Load

The indicator light (just above the short "dash" for low) comes on in either the high (batt) or low (acc) positions. Make sure you remove the contact or won't work right!

The illumination light (lights up the heated seat icon) is the remaining two leads which I did not hook up.

Congrats on the mod.
Back when I was using factory buttons for my custom audio switches, my paint removal technique was brake fluid and some elbow grease (or thumb knuckle grease, hehe). The brake fluid usually got rid of the paint pretty well, without affecting the plastic because it is black plastic thru & thru... if you're interested.
