i was a my fiends house working on all of our 240's... ans i mentioned that i wanted to get some rear sear belts... and my friends was like just take my old ones( theyr brown, but ill vinyl spraypaint them)... so i did and i was looking at the and trying to unreel them... but theyr locked up... i can pull little by little but at the end itll reel in and out then it gets locked up again...

any idea on how to get them to reel freely?

it has to be at a certain angle. i cant explain why, but on all rear seatbelts that ive removed, it will not release untill it is back to its stock angle.

Yeah theres a tumbler that locks when the seatbelt reaches an odd angle, say if the car rolled over.
