Looks easy enough to remove the rear seat. Since it is not flat back there (car will end up being the dog mobile), I'm thinking of getting a sheet of hardboard or 1/4 plywood, cutting it to size, covering with carpet and slipping it back there. Has anyone done this, it would be nice to know how it turned out. If there is an aftermarket insert that is ready to go, I would consider that too.
Anyway, greetings from a "new" Versa driver, just got my vehicle (2009 SL) yesterday and really love how it drives.

I removed the back seat and re-installed the bottom part only, but the dog is a bit confused as he is laying on the floor between the two seats. I'm thinking of getting a long sheet of plywood with a piano hinge down the middle so as to have one complete flat area from the back of the front seats to the lift gate.

Got her done. I used a single piece of 1/2" 4x4 plywood from HD to make the two pieces, as a single piece would not fit. There are supports on either side on the front of the boards and the pillar as well as two pieces of wood cut to size along the back. It is bolted to the seatbelt bolt holes in the frame. Holes were made to clear the plastic tab that holds the floor carpet, otherwise they would crush. I used runner carpet from HD, pretty good match, glued with carpet glue. The dog LOVES his new vehicle, it is low to the ground and easy to jump in to, much lower than the fold down seat approach by other small cars (fit). He can look out the window when standing, which he could not do in the Windstar. All in all, a great improvement for canine mobility.
