So a few months ago I moved my entire setup including my sr into a Hatch, my coupe had 270,xxx miles. I've noticed the bass is really awesome in a hatch, but my problem is the rear speakers. I've seen people mount speakers in the trunk cover thing, originally had the idea to do that. One thing I think about is wouldn't that thing rattle? Especially if I've got a sub in the trunk? I'm really missing the rear speakers, just isn't the same without them. I've seen pictures of speakers mounted the way I'm talking about but can't find any testimonials about the quality. So if anybody has done this let me know what you think!

My current setup:6.5'' alpine type R's10'' alpine type R SubRockford Punch P6001bd 600watt x1 channelKicker zx350.4 4 channel 60W RMS per channel

why don't you just put some nice to decent speakers in the factory spot. then you don't have to worry about the rattle... and you won't have to worry about ***holes getting ideas about jackin your s**t.

I'd thought about that but I read some stuff about people have problems with the stock spots, getting things to fit even being the right size. A friend of mine got some 4x6's for the rear and I remember him saying they weren't too good, even though they were alpines. Could always go at it with a dremel or something to get my spare 6.5'' 's a home I guess. Thought I'd just see what other's were doing.

the system in my car sounds great lol i have pioneer 6x9s in the door (fits great if you take off the grill and mount them to the door panel its self) alpine HU infinity 4x9s in the back2 10" alpine type E in the hatch

i might put my 4ch amp back in since i started listen to songs with alot of bass and it seems like the subs over power the speakers

if you take the rear seat panels off there is a perfect spot for speakers to go, and then you can put the panels back over for a nice clean look

Ya i've seen the spot your referring to in the rear. I'd have to do some cutting into it but ya it would be perfect. Just one thing that always worried me was just how close the trim piece gets to the opening. Would look weird if there was a big gap between the speaker and grill.

And also i have had any problems with crackling, but I forgot to mention my deck is also an alpine, cda9835. Works great with the ipod adapter. I also ran all shielded wire when I installed everything so no problems with the annoying whine from the speakers. And its a plus the stereo matches the color theme of the lights in my car

The two blue lights under my steering wheel area are my boost controller and turbo timer.
