i got it. biggest pain in the a**.the rubber plug is for tightening or loosening the emergency brake mechanism..got flash light look insite to see little wheel that i had to turn up or down to loosen the emergency brake.so after it come off. freaking nightmare.now that i got off the caliper bracket, i need to unscrew broken bolt, s*** man. look very rusty. got bolt extractor, will see.

oh s***,you need to turn the wheel through the little hole on the rotor to loosen up the drum shoes.that's what the hole is for after put new rotor on, would you need to tighten back up the shoes through the hole again, so emergency brake would work, but not too tight.basically biggest pain in the a**.Never experienced it before with my others cars.live and learn ,i guess.later

I'm having this same problem right now, can't get my rear rotors off. Can someone explain a little clearer than the above posters how to remove the rear rotors?

Thanks

Ebrake does that even on other vehicles. I guess if you are lucky, it will come right off.

Anyone else who's rear rotors didn't just slide right off? If so how did you go about getting them off?

quack at it at both side and spray some lubricant. do not over turn the screws that hold the ebrake pad because if you do, those pins will fall off and got stuck inside the frikin disc which is also a pain in the @$$ to get off. i did this last summer and it was such b**** to get off.

Finally got them off! Just beat the heck out of them with a hammer as hard as I could from all angles. I beat the hub first until it started to dent a little bit which told me it was starting to loosen, then I beat the rotor itself and it finally budged. I only beat the rotor because I'm putting on new ones which is part of the Akebono swap I'm doing!

Got the calipers powdercoated black by the way! :)

I just went though this last week. Make sure you dont have your ebrake set when trying to pull off the rear rotors (like I did at first) LOL!
I just took a 20 lb dumbell which acted like a mini sludge, and i just tapped the right, left, top, then bottom, and they slid right off.
