Ok I have searched and what I found for the rear rotor removal was that the rotor is just supposed to come off with some force. I also have the Chiltons guide for the 240sx and it says for the "wagon" which I can only assume means fastback (which I have, a 1990) requires removal of several pieces including the grease cap, cotter pin and adjusting bolt before you can remove the rotor. So for my question, which one is it? Do I have to remove the other parts before taking off the rotor or should I just hammer the thing until it comes off? Ive seen pictures where there are holes on the hub for removing the rotor but mine dont have them. Thanks in advance for the help. -John

+1 agreed. They are supposed to be slip-fit but if they rust you have to knock them off. Use some anti-seize when you put your new ones on so you won't have that problem next time. S13 Rear Brake Rotor Install zerothread?id=242889

Yeah I have already seen that link but my suspicion was that the write up was for the later model fastback (92-93) that may have had a different rotor setup. I thought this bc the Chiltons manual said that for rear rotor removal it would require removal of several components. Take in to mind that this manual is for the earlier fastbacks not the later (89-92 not 92-93) so maybe the rear setup is different esspecially because my hubs do not have the two threaded holes that allow for easier removal of the rotor. Can anyone confirm or refute this? All help appreciated. -John

I just took rear rotors off of my 92 coupe last night (for upgrade). A big beefy hammer wouldn't budge them. You'll notice there are two tapped holes that are smaller diameter and on a different bolt circle than the 4-lug holes. Find two M8 bolts that are long enough and thread those into the rotor until they bottom out. Then tighten one of the bolts about one turn, and then tighten the other bolt about one turn. Continue to do this until the rotor frees itself from the hub.

This is obviously done after you remove the rear caliper bracket thing that surrounds the rotor... You have to have it out of the way first.

Hope that helps!
