I accidentally left the front windows open in my '93 j30 during a rainstorm. Now the left rear window does not work right. It is stuck in the down position. The motor is receiving current constantly, pulling the window down, as though you were pressing switch down. Key on, key off, it doesn't matter. the only way I can stop it is to disconnect the battery or the wiring harness to the motor.

I did not leave the rear window open. It came open at some point during the storm.

I thought maybe it was the switch assembly in the driver's side door shorting out, since it got a good soaking. but unplugging it completely makes no difference.

Any ideas?

I found this from a recent post by
SteveTheTech wrote:I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the J uses a rudimentary CAN system to transmit information for window and door lock operation. Each door has a small control unit. If you have compromised one of the main control wires you will need to fix that first.

Window problems are usually one of the main components like a motor, switch or relator the control units rarely go bad and more likely than that would be a failed drivers window switch.
I don't know if this helps or not, but give it a shot.
